Innovation Since 1946

In 1946, Errol Glenn Gault pioneered the first jetted rock bit, creating an industry paradigm. The patent and Gault Tool, Co. were passed to the capable hands of Tom Gault in 1960 who took the family business to greater heights. Recognized for his excellence in manufacturing, Tom sold the business to a major drill bit manufacturer in 1981. In 2004, CapRock Oil Tools began production. The same innovation is found today in this third-generation offshoot founded by Glenn Gault, Errol’s grandson.

Glenn Gault

Glenn began working for his father at Gault Tool Company when he was 12 years old. His father’s insistence that he learn every facet of manufacturing a drill bit has proven invaluable. From welding, machining, designing and selling to studying geology and engineering at the University of Oklahoma, Glenn has been steeped in the industry culture. As a third-generation drill bit manufacturer and entrepreneur he knows that quality, innovation and customer service are imperative.
